PROFESSOR CHRISTIAN KUNERT
Christian Kunert, born in Esslingen in 1983, studied piano with Bernd Glemser and bassoon with Albrecht Holder in Würzburg. During his studies, which he graduated with honor, he became a member of the Stuttgart State Orchestra in 2003. Since 2005, he has been principal bassoonist in the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra. In addition, he is a regular guest as a soloist or as a temporary assistant in various important orchestras.
In 2007 he received the Hamburg Eduard Söring Prize and in 2008 he won the ARD award for bassoon in Munich with an additional audience award. Since 2010 he has been a professor with a full class for bassoon at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater.
He performs on international stages as a soloist and chamber musician, but also as a pianist and as a conductor. He gives various master classes for bassoon and chamber music with great commitment in Germany, Switzerland, France, Russia, China, Korea, Japan, Mexico, Brazil and South Africa.

Christian Kunert is chief conductor of the "Harvestehuder Sinfonieorchester" in Hamburg. As conductor he worked with Orchestras like the "Deutsche Oper Berlin", "Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal", "Essener Philharmoniker", "Kapella St. Petersburg", Orchestre National du Capitol Toulouse" and the "Xi'an Symphony Orchestra" (China).
He is a very determined personality. This is examplified by the fact, that he learned to conduct autodidactically. He is an innovative Representative for a new, highly motivated and enthusiastic generation of musicians. He masters a broad Repertoire, which he develops in new ways. He Is also very open for alternative forms of concerts and vivid, contemporary ways to arrange music. He sees it as his mission, to let music be tangible as the voice of the soul and a living part of our cultural Identification.
